Jump for the Vets (Year 3)
January 6 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm$40 - $170
The Following is from Dr. Merjjena B. Hemp. Director of Beyond the Shadows of September
The CCP911 Project #Jump4TheVets advances the conversation about the struggles and challenges of our veterans. While many amazing organizations are focused on raising funds to help our veterans in need, this event focuses on identifying the roadblocks in providing efficient and better care for the men and women who sacrificed so much for our country.
We ask hard questions why many of them are living on the streets and the sad facts about the suicide and drug addiction. I launched the project in 2015 at Skydive Flying v Ranch in Missouri then we went to Skydive Kansas, Skydive El Paso in New Mexico, Skydive SW Florida and on January 6th next year, we are jumping for our vets again in Florida, at Skydive City.
I must tell you that this event is not easy for everyone involved, for the hosts, organizers, and participants alike. We open the event by sharing stories and the experiences of our veterans and it’s a little emotional. I have facilitated many complicated conversations in the past but this one still gets me every time. I break down in tears because for 21 years as a military family member I know by experience the immense struggles that they go through before, during, and after multiple deployments.
I can’t do this alone so I am asking you to join me on January 6th. Let’s try to bring our communities together for our vets, one complicated conversation, one skydive at a time!

The Complicated Conversations Post-9/11 Project is not a 5o1C3 organization, it is a self and community funded community engagement initiative, a nontraditional scholarly publication, and the practical application of my doctoral research that I founded following my graduation at NewMexicoStateUniversity (See brief profile)
