Many web sites have appeared selling gift certificates for skydiving, supposedly representing a skydiving center in your local area. They make wild claims that they have hundreds of skydiving schools across the country and you are dealing with the reservation center for all of them. 

The truth is that there is there never has been a nationally owned chain of skydiving schools. They are nothing more than an internet and telemarketing company adding additional markup and confusion to a fairly straight forward process. 

An alert consumer will notice that these “businesses” have multiple websites that look very similar, they are very general in their information and they all steer you to a call center in a Southern state. They will not tell you their location, but will say; “Yes, we have a skydiving center near you.” The names of the websites sound like they should be skydiving schools close to a major city or state. However, they look very much like several hundred other websites with similar sounding names.

Conversely, all visits to 1-800-SKYDIVE.com or our own 800-404-9339, 800-404-9399, and 800-888-JUMP go directly to authentic privately owned skydiving centers conveniently located near major metropolitan areas. You always deal directly with that skydiving center and never with a middleman.

Please don't fall for the on-line marketing scam. Skydive City does not honor gift certificates from some of these services. People who buy these on-line certificates usually have to drive surprisingly long distances, because there are so few skydiving centers accepting them. When a customer finds out that he can not use his certificate at one of the major centers, and then tries to get a refund, he will find that no refunds, compromises, renewals, or transfers are available. There is no local office staff or real skydiving instructors with whom to speak, and all communications are with telemarketers in a far-away state.

  
When customers arrive at one of the small part-time schools that will accept these certificates, they often have to wait all day because their certificates are given a lower priority. Their jumps are usually performed one person at a time from a small, single engine aircraft that goes to altitudes of only 9 or 10 thousand feet. The unwary consumer pays more and gets less for his skydiving experience. Skydive City can always take groups of friends on the same large, twin engine aircraft, and we always go to 13,000 feet or higher (weather permitting). Get the most value for your money!

THINGS TO LOOK FOR:

Look for a business address – Skydive City is located at 4241 Sky Dive Lane in Zephyrhills, Florida, 33542. You will find us listed in the major phone books in Florida. We will tell you our location and welcome you to stop by to see for yourself! The online certificate sellers will not give you a location until you have made a purchase. Come here!

Look for specific information about their aircraft and facilities - The aircraft and facilities you see on our website are the ones we actually own and operate.

Check with the Better Business Bureau for information about the company you are delaing with.  We have a good record, some others do not.

Look for "additional fees" when you are purchasing a gift certificate. The on-line resellers have a price that appears to be lower than the major skydiving centers, but after they have your credit card number they will tell you about the additional fees which make it more expensive.  There are no hidden fees with Skydive City.
